This young woman, "Miss Jeanne Boadway, a popular Marin junior, who was graduated today from Tamalpais High School" is strolling with Belle Of Basquaerie.

Belle was owned by Mr. C. A. Ackerman, Big Four Kennels, San Francisco, California.

Belle was the pioneer Great Pyrenees in California and on the Pacific Coast.
  • Belle was purchased by Mr. Ackerman from the Basquaerie Kennels in the summer of 1935;
  • Belle was purchased in whelp to Champion Patou and had her litter of eight puppies September 19, 1935, the first AKC Great Pyrenees litter born in California and on the Pacific Coast;
  • Belle was the first recorded AKC Great Pyrenees shown in California at the Golden Gate Kennel Club Show in Februrary of 1936;
  • Belle became the first Great Pyrenees bitch bred in America to become a Champion (1936);
  • Belle has the distinction of being from the first Great Pyrenees litter born in the United States, the "Urdos x Blanchette" litter, born June 20, 1933.
