"Rare Great Pyrenees Dogs Bred

In Kennels Of Needham Fanciers"

So read the headline in this most interesting photo illustrated article, 1934. The top photo shows 14 puppies, four and five weeks of age, just following their dinner at Basquaerie. The photo are the lower left shows Mrs. Crane with two of the puppies, while the photo on the right show Mrs. Crane with 4 adults. |
| From left to right the 4 adults are: |
- Ch. Urdos de Soum (see Urdos article on menu page);
- Blanchette (dam of the first litter in America);
- Belle Of Basquaerie (See Popular Miss Jeanne news clipping); and
- Aspe du Pic du Jer (the first Champion bitch in America, 1934).
Urdos and Blanchette were the first sire and dam in the history of the breed in the United States. Belle, their daughter, is from that litter. |
